Drawings

As a photographer, I have always observed and recorded from behind the lens. In this series of pencil drawings, I have put the lens down and recorded that which cannot be seen, but is constructed in the amorphous and tenuous dream state. In stepping out from behind the lens I am exploring the line between the waking world and the dream world.

My dreams are created from the mundane but have no boundaries. The dreamer can participate or remain an observer and the dream will accommodate. There are no explanations or apologies. They ebb and flow and take their time in taking shape. In this exploration I search for the undercurrent of the dream that is hitched to waking life.

This has been her journey built on many years of silence. It is time to speak a truth, my truth, but not yours. The titles are mine, but they are temporary and are changed with the viewer.
Likewise there are no symbols in the dreams in the hope that the viewer will find his or her own story.
